MINDS IN THE GUTTER

MoTech Goes Bowling

Bowling is a game of skill, calculation, strength and form. But all that went down the gutter when MoTech visited historic Saratoga Lanes in Maplewood to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary and enjoy a night out with the team.

A Crazy Bowl took the place of traditional tenpin competition, where teams of four racked up the points by bowling in ridiculous ways: bowling through the legs of teammates; spinning three times then bowling; dancing up to the lane; pushing the bowling ball with one’s feet; bowling with the opposite hand and other challenging techniques. The team of Les Miserabowls—consisting of Jenny, Shawnna, Hillary and Jillian—took First Place in the event.

The night also included pizza and desserts, billiards, pinball, MoTech 20th Anniversary apparel, random trivia questions from company leader Dick Estes and only one instance of a bowler bowling while the metal blocking bar on the pin resitter was still down.

The 8-lane, second floor Saratoga Lanes Bowling & Billiards is the oldest of its kind west of the Mississippi and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
